Quotes/Lyrics:
“Call me what you will, I’m an artist. I’m a little bit of everything”
“I grow with every word I poet/I hurt and I hope and I show it/I want the crowd to know it.”
“I know the difference if ONLY I wasn’t different /I could Probably make a difference, oh hell, what’s the difference.”
“I stay subtle/cops huddle up on the block /and you could find me hip hoppin’ in my space shuttle.”
“Why Bother? The wind ain’t blowin’ your way, well okay/it’ll happen in the course of a day/but the day’ll come a gust, a breeze, a hurricane’ll rage/ and the whole thing’ll blow in your face”
“I’m a son of a gun/daddy was a pistol/son of a bitch/momma was pitbull”
“You can get it/show me respect or I’ll take it/ I’ll make you wish in the first place that you would’ve gave it. I’ll count 1 2 3/then put you in a figure 4 leg-lock with ease/ and break both your knees.”
“I want the truth/some of us don’t but most of us do/ they will or they won’t/ but what about you?”
“We need to keep it as real as it gets/don’t wet it up with a chorus/they might ignore us/ or even worse forget what we said in the verse/ we need to be heard/realayin’ them feelin’s that hurt/ cause people relate when we display it in words.”
Personal story about Paul Raimondo :
Paul Raimondo was born in Ft. Lauderdale (he thinks) FL. He grew up listening to legendary artist such as John Lennon and Bob Dylan and John Cash and Jimi Hendrix thanks to his influential father, Paul James Raimondo. Thanks to his friends he grew up listening to legendary artists such as Eazy-E and K-Solo and the Beastie Boys and Rakim.
On the day before his 4th birthday, he was struck by a car in a hit and run incident, leaving him in a body cast for many months. He would have to learn to walk all over again. (For Halloween he was wheeled around in a Radio Flyer wagon in his batman costume.)
Tragedy came again when he was nineteen. He was passenger in a fatal car wreck which took the life of his good friend Matthew Ryan Olsen (R.I.P.) while travelling from party to party with a group of friends. The vehicle spun out around a curve travelling at 55+ mph, bouncing a curb, and hitting a tree. Trapped in the car with his friend for 4 hours, PR was well aware of his injuries. He was air-lifted to the hospital and fitted with several titanium rods in his legs and hand, 7 inch titanium screws, and 6 bags of blood. All of which he refers to as his million dollar makeover.
Once again he was challenged with learning to walk all over again. Third time’s a charm they say. Realizing he had escaped death twice, maybe even more, he asked himself, “What can I do? Why am I the one that’s still here?” He began writing as a tool to cope with these questions.
Years later he linked up with long time friend Jamie Keogh at and began recording at Reverse Polarity Studios. It was then and there that he realized his purpose. To spread a message often discarded by many. TRUTH. He stays true to his feelings, never denying them. He’s even happy when he’s sad cause at least he knows he can feel. With Reverse Polarity, they built a classic cult scene of Hip Hop heads in a local pub which made news in many papers and was voted #1 Hip Hop Night in New Times. Now, Paul Raimondo owns Reverse Polarity Studios along with Partner, Brian “the Architect” Spatz.
